Curt Thompson: The Hidden Barrier to Creativity

Psychiatrist and author Curt Thompson shares about the power shame has to truncate our creative capacity. Because we are constantly hiding from anything that might shame us, we exhaust emotional energy that otherwise could be spent on creative, joyful endeavors. Leaders who are liberated from shame can speak from places of vulnerability and create safe places for their teams to operate with higher degrees freedom and creativity. Thompson shares that being known by others - ending isolation - is the first step in combating shame and creating more integrated, creative modes of thinking and working.
